The following real estate advertisement by David Duer of Century 21 is like many other deceptive forms of advertising that attempt to get a seller in contact with an unsuspecting buyer. The element of misrepresentation in the ad you see is a home that is probably worth around $600,000. There are no homes in Roswell,NM’s Sorrento Estates that resemble the home you see in ad photo in either appearance or price. In fact, a potential home buyer relying only on this Century 21 ad would be quite disappointed upon driving into the French Brothers Home Builders enclave across the street from the NMMI Golf course on Union.
This new and very safe subdivision has moderate upscale homes in the price range of 200K to 300K with some nicer custom homes, built by TNT construction, closer to 400K.
Back to some of the exaggerations of the real estate ad. Sorrento Estates is not a planned community(there is NO HOA, only C C and R that is weakly enforced) and the only recreation is the fenced in golf course across the street. Cielo Grande is the only park “nearby” and is around a mile away. We have a couple of family friends who live there and they love it, but not because of the inaccurate description given in the advertisement. Military Heights Elementary is very close along with the even closer Maupin and Brown Dental Complex.
One has to wonder why the producer of this real estate ad did not mention that around 80% of the homes in this subdivision of over 50 homes were built by the French Brothers out of Alamogordo. Also, to the person from Century 21 who created this ad dated October 11,2015, David Duer passed away November 14,2014. Please pay him his due respect by being more current with your advertising campaigns. Also note there are no gold courses nearby, only a single golf course. AND, every home in Roswell has a “stunning view of the Capitan Sunsets.”
