We received the following unsolicited email from US Debt Settlement Service concerning our current debt. Since we are not in debt, I concluded that Stanton America just throws a huge email fish net out there hoping to reel in folks in hopeless financial calamities.
A quick search on Stanton America turned up a credit card debt consolidation house claiming they could help you clear up more than $10000 in debt WITHOUT declaring bankruptcy. This is certainly sounds difficult, if not impossible. How can somebody in that much debt get out of it without either paying it back or declaring bankruptcy?
Stanton America does not appear to be a direct lender, but an entity that will place you in contact with a Better Business Bureaus accredited loan shark…..I mean lender. The lender they hook you up with will not charge you any fees until you get results which is vague and sneaky sounding.
What kind of results are they talking about?……paying off $500 of a $15000 balance? They also state they can consolidate all your debt into one low monthly payment and have you debt free in 2 years. Anybody with half a brain knows $25000 in credit card debt will not go away with only 24 months of low payments.
Stanton America’s mailing address is 1000 North West Street, Suite 1200, Wilmington, Delaware, 19801. We tried turning off the torrent of emails we get from them by adjusting our “account profile” settings at TargetGuru, but they keep sending out the ads. BTW, we never set up an account which makes me wonder if there is some sort of legal action that can be taken for unfair business practices.
