Pearson is a great web site for Chemistry, Physics, Math etc, but the following mistake by a student turned into a real time hog for the Pearson Support Staff and the student involved. The student was enrolled in a Brick and Mortar College Algebra class. She mistakenly used the course ID of one of her friends who was taking a Physics class when she enrolled online with an access code that she had also purchased online.
So she ended up seeing the Physics Home Work when she logged in to MyMathLab rather than the college algebra HW that had been assigned by her instructor. She eventually got it straightened out, but it required her and her instructor staying on the phone for around 45 minutes with the Pearson representatives. Most of the time spent was due to the Pearson Rep having to authenticate the identity of teacher and student and being sure that student was not trying to pull a fast one.
Moral of the story: Small mistakes can mushroom into time consuming efforts to correct the mistake! Take the time to get it right the first time or you might regret it.
