Billings Gazette:Kenneth Hollar

Kenneth Hollar writes a simple letter with a simple solution to the editor of the Billings Gazette. Mr Hollar astutely recommends limiting individuals or corporations from donating more that $1000 to any political candidate.
His proposal would make policy making politicians much less beholden to the special interests of the rich. It would also create a more egalitarian society where families of average means would have as much say as folks who inherited a lot of money.

It is time that the voters in our nation get an amendment to our nation’s Constitution. A provision should be added that limits any individual or corporation from donating more than $1,000 to any political candidate’s campaign each time that they run for office.

We are a nation of the people, for the people and by the people, not a nation whose government officials are bribed (all too frequently)through large campaign donations to represent only the rich.
