The young man you see in the picture was eagerly promoting himself as a potential employee of Red Ribbon Bake Shop located in the mega mall in Manila, Philippines. As you can see, the manager conducting the interview with pen in hand was reviewing the applicant’s CV or resume. The resume had the aspiring service attendant’s picture along with the usual list of qualifications and previous employment.
The Bake Shop shift manager seemed genuinely interested in the applicant’s credentials and work history. I know that we order their scrumptious butter mamon value pack frequently for home delivery as we just recently moved into a Barangay where they deliver. There are quite a few regions in Metro Manila where Red Ribbon will not deliver their tasty baked offerings. My wife’s cousin lives in an area where they will not deliver despite the fact that there are no burglaries or vandalisms in his neighborhood.
They are quite picky about only delivering in region that corresponds to a particular phone number. For example, we somehow had the Paseo de Sta. Rosa, Laguna 541-0423 number when we resided in San Pedro and they would not give us the San Pedro number when we called the Paseo de Sta. Rosa location! Thought that was weird thing for a franchise to do. The person who answered the phone maybe was busy and did not have time.
