I don’t know how common Police Blotters are in large town newspapers, but they are informative and often colorful yielding insight into the pulse of smaller communities. The police blotter for the Roswell Daily Record recently had a couple of entries that MUST be reported to the entire world.
1. A lady walks into Albertson’s to pick up her 38th birthday cake. She must of thought the store was giving her a birthday present because she was arrested for not paying! She claimed she thought her son had paid for it. Sounds like creative hindsight to me. Her actions literally and figuratively take the cake.
2. Police reported RISD stated subjects cut the locks to DeBremond football stadium and stole $200 worth of electrical wire. This was newsworthy because it was NOT copper wire. There have been an incredible number of copper burglaries , some of them occurring at local churches!! The thieves should be harshly punished because of the damage to the public address system which will interfere with the smooth running of the facility where Roger Staubach once played as a quarterback for NMMI.
