The derelict, boarded up, and condemned multistory structure you see was once nominated(Mimi Sheridan) as a Seattle, Washington landmark. It is at the corner of fourth and Bell near a La Quinta Inn, in which we lodged.
The grumpy, slovenly, gray haired gentlemen you see walking on the sidewalk adjacent to the deteriorating icon appeared to think I was taking his picture as he glared in my direction. I could not find too much background on the edifice other than it was built in 1918.
A building almost 100 years old has many poignant stories ringing with nostalgia. I just don’t know any of them for this now sad looking former domicile to many.
