Was reminded of the thoughtful public safety concern of Molly Yacovone, Springfield Massachusetts as she wrote Patrick Johnson, who edits The Republican, trying to determine what city authority is responsible for fixing light poles with rusted out bases that could fall at any time!

The picture you see below is grocery store parking lot light pole that has not been serviced or repaired in over a decade. Our parents pay property tax in Roswell NM and shop at this Albertsons weekly AND we fear for their safety in a city whose high paid city manager should not let this kind of life threatening crap go on with no effort made to repair the rusty and tenuously supported light pole.

The city of Roswell hired a city manager for over $150,000 I heard.  A dangerous public fixture should not go untended like this one has without somebody having to answer for dereliction of duty.

A man like the Lancaster Pennsylvania Watchdog Joe Hainthaler would be of enormous assistance in this small town in south eastern New Mexico which has been playfully referred to as the land of manana. Joe has fearlessly taken on corporate behemoths like Verizon and Sprint energetically functioning as a consumer and safety advocate!
