I do not know if estate sales are any more common in Roswell, NM than anywhere else, but they do seem to be advertised rather frequently in the RDR. My wife and I picked up some high quality inexpensive items at an estate sale on Alameda a few Saturdays ago and were very impressed with the woman who was running the sale.

I had always assumed that a member of the family of the deceased would organize and run the sale, but found out that some folks are actually professional Estate salespersons. Karen of HOBBS Estate Sales is a bonded Estate sales professional. She will try to get top dollar for all of your loved ones possessions and treat your home as though it was her own.

Being an estate sales agent is decent career opportunity with minimal overhead  and little to no fixed costs or startup costs. People turn out in droves to estate sales in search of that special deal. Understand that most estate sales are trying to liquidate or transport all items in no longer than 48 hours so finding that inexpensive high quality kitchen appliance or dining and living room furniture might be easier than you think! The closer to the end of the estate sale, the more likely you will be able to haggle or negotiate for drastic price tag reductions. We found the classic cookbook La Methode at an estate sale for only 50 cents!
