Experian Should be Forced out of Business

RantExperian credit bureau has closed small businesses and has forced consumers to buy their cars from from dealers in other cites. This is not fair and must stop. For whatever reason many lenders use Experian as their exclusive credit reporting resource despite the fact completely reliable alternatives exist in the form of TransUnion, Equifax, and FICO.

We froze our credit history at Experian many years ago due to an identity theft/compromise in Houston,TX. What you see below is an attempt to unfreeze or thaw our credit online. We had paid for a PIN to thaw our credit history temporarily when we were applying for mortgages or car loans.

We recently tried to unfreeze with PIN online and got the following screen at Experian Website forcing us to mail 10 dollars along with utility bill, insurance statement, a photocopy of Social Security Card and Driver’s License via snail mail to thaw our credit.(Mailing all this via snail mail is a security risk which ONE WOULD EXPECT EXPERIAN TO UNDERSTAND) What was the purpose of the F—-king PIN to begin with if we have to utilize archaic snail mail to execute a task that should be conveniently taken care of online!!?

Experian is systemically making it inconvenient/difficult to do something every consumer should be able to do hassle free. I am currently researching the feasibility of filing class action lawsuit and would be interested to know if there were other interested parties out there.

They have way too much control over a three digit score that dramatically impacts the quality of your life.
