The police car(vehicle/car/unit number 40165) you see is parked legally in the 800 Block of West 8th Street in Roswell, New Mexico near Margot Purdy park and Mirador Apts. However, the wide patrol car parked in a narrow street makes it dangerous for eastbound and westbound traffic to pass simultaneously creating a danger alert especially when combined with safe pedestrian passage.
Many Roswell residents don’t have garages or their garages are stuffed with items they have collected but no longer need which forces them to park their cars in driveway or street.
We noticed this one day on our way home from the Spring River Golf course near Cielo Grande Soccer complex. You really can not blame the police officer as salaries for law enforcement personnel is notoriously low in places like Vaughn, Artesia, Carlsbad, Roswell and other cities in the ugliest part of the state of NM.
It actually gets worse along 8th street as sometimes you have unthinking citizens parking on the road across from each other creating quite the hazard and it is LEGAL! Some of the EBT card lowlifes that live in Roswell are probably hoping they get hit by a passing motorist so they can file an insurance claim. In a town where meth addiction is very high along with unemployment, what else would you expect?
